It probably didn't help, but never ever force a transmission into gear; it will either damage the hub and slider(s), the gear(s), the synchro, the springs/keys, or the shift fork(s).Get the pedal assembly fixed, then back out the master...

A big thank you to everyone for your input. I went ahead and attached the wires going to the fuse on the upper stud and I am now getting the 14v I wasn't getting before.

I have the (2) white wires attached to the post “above” (as-viewed, when mounted) the 2-pin connector on my 90A Galant alternator. From the top:From underneath:And I actually had shorting issues trying to attach it elsewhere. Blew through...

As you note these are two different alternators. My 91 looked like the top version. While you can use the second post to ground the alternator I believe it was used to secure the cable harness so it didn't bounce around from the factory.

I'm still confused on why the design is different and why the one I am removing has the B on the bottom instead of on top like all the others I have do. Bad luck of the reman draw I suppose? I already had a supplemental ground wire going to the...

On all alt's the post that is insulated is B+ (goes to battery positive). The alt casing is always ground and is usually connected to battery negative through its mounting to the engine/frame. Some alts also have a negative post to connect a...

My new (top) alternator showed up but it has 2 posts, my old one had 1. Are they both going to the battery or is one ground? I was having a non charging issue with the one below so I got a galant 90 amp to replace it.Additionally, the...

I just fired my motor up for the first time in 3 years and I have BC 272's. I forgot how choppy and angry those things sound at idle.

When I made this thread I forgot to post this chart that shows reflectance vs wavelength for aluminum, gold, and silver. You can see they are all good. Infrared wavelengths are 750nm and longer, up to 1mm.Just lately, I noticed that...

Here's a couple pics of it on the car. You can see things are pretty close down there. The bent flap at the bottom is to clear the O2 sensor. The red wrap you see on the wires there is self-fusing silicone tape (X-Treme Tape TPE-XZLBRD). I...

I cut the aluminum to shape, then started dialing in the bend angles with a lot of test fitting to the car. Back and forth a couple times between the car and a large bench vise. I don’t have a proper bending press. To make the bends, I put the...

Alternators hate heat! Your slipping belt is heating up the alternator which is transferring the heat through the rotor to the backside rotor bearing which will transfer the heat from there to the back casing which is where your diode plate and...

The beautiful weather is here, and my galant alternator is coming tomorrow. So today I am focusing on finishing my guages. The biggest problem I have with these custom gauges is the bleedthrough through the black parts. The paper i am using is...

Since I put the Saturn alternator on this car, the voltage has been giving the fuel pumps some grief. The relay kept popping, and the wires to the top of the assembly were HOT and smelled of fire. Each 450 pump pulls low 20 amps, and the...

Fired her up for the first time in 3 years. This is what resulted.Lights would go bright with high rpms, 80amp popped twice. I do have a handful of accessories I run so I ordered a galant 90amp to help fix it along with some 4awg wire to run...
