If anyone is familar with Sparco seat installation I could use your help

I got a Sparco R100 seat on the way, looking to install it on the driver side in the 2G DSM since the current seat is just torn up too bad

The seat will end up looking like this:

I know I need brackets, does this bracket below look right?

I found it here:

Besides that I also assume I need these sliders right & some bolts ExtremePSI has those

Is there anything I'm missing for a good clean smooth install? I'm going to want full adjustability of the seat.

Also can I use the stock seatbelt or do I need a harness?

Thanks in advance!

I've used those Sparco seat brackets for a 2g eclipse and they will place the seat WAYYY too high in the cabin of the car. Wedge used to make them and were great, but they no longer make brackets for us from what I've seen. I've seen a seller on ebay offering similar brackets for the 2g platform, but can't vouch for the fitment or quality of them.

Our cars are pretty bad to put aftermarket seats in because of how the seat mounts are raised on the floor so you have to keep them as close to the floor as possible.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it.

So you used these exact brackets?

I wonder if there's any way to custom fab it so it's not a problem with the height?

Any chance the seat would fit with OEM bracket or not at all?

Yes, I wouldn’t even consider driving the car sitting that high in the cabin. As mentioned on my build thread I linked, I got rid of the Sparco brackets and got wedge brackets which I ended up modifying as well. The seats I chose were part of the problem due to how thick the bottom cushion was, but the Sparco brackets are a no-go for me.

Thanks again, do you have a link to where you got the wedge brackets from?

I see you got your seats to fit really good:

Even with the planted seat bracket, anything with sliders on it will have a tight fit with head clearance. Best case scenario is to have the seat position mounted where its best for you and that cuts out the extra clearance added from the sliders.

Thanks for the reply!

Do you also happen to know if I could run the stock seatbelt with it or would I need to get a harness?

I have a Sparco Sprint with the Sparco adjustable seat slider (00493) in my 1g by modifying a Sparco 600 seat base (Cutting the mounting tabs and welded as L shape to make it mounted as low as possible). As mentioned above that the position would be too high if you would install it as is supposed to be, especially if the car has roll cage and if you would need to wear a helmet in the track. I imagine in a 2g, the overhead space would be even tighter than 1g. Without the slider, you could make the position a bit lower, but not convenient when you want to change the seat position.

I have a pair of Corbeau Evolution seats in my Eclipse using the Corbeau brackets for the Eclipse. While I am quite satisfied with the seats the brackets were annoying. Since the brackets were designed to fit the car you'd think that they would just drop right in and bolt up. But nope, the mounting points for the driver and passenger side were both off and not by just a tiny bit. On one side I remember that it seemed like the metal for one of the mounting points was off by an inch and it was as if they forgot to bent the angles for the metal incorrectly. It required a bit of work and widening of a few of the holes in order to get them in properly.

All of that to say that the seats fit into the car fine after. I don't feel like they're too high uop. I even have the slide rails installed. If you're interested I'll see if I can dig up a photo later.

Have you considered Planted brackets?
Planted

Thanks again for sending me the link via DM you’ve been super helpful!

For anyone else looking for a bracket this might be the one:

Just wondering if I should get the standard or alternate bolt pattern? Seats are R100 Sparco

Very nice glad to hear the seats ended up fitting well and yeah if you could dig up a photo that’d be awesome!!

Here are a couple of photos. One photo still shows the OEM seat so you get an idea of how much higher the headrest ends up. I found that I wasn't sitting significantly higher in the Corbeaus than I was with the OEM seat.

Do you already have the Sparco and you're only trying to find a bracket?
